The War on Immigrants

The War on Immigrants

I was one of the contributors to this great special edition on immigration reform by Pacifica Radio last year:

This special broadcast analyzes the new Senate immigration bill - the Immigrant Reform Act S.1348 -  set to be voted on by the upper house, present challenging interviews with lawmakers, and look at global dynamics that lead to migration and Europe's own crackdown on immigration.

The program features produced stories from FSRN stringers from around the world, and host debates and discussions on the best way to move forward with a fair and just policy in dealing with immigration.

Iraq Veterans Against the War Speak Out

As part of the national anti-war mobilization on October 27, 2007, as many 10,000 protesters gathered in Boston to make themselves heard against the war. Among them, Iraq Veterans Against the War were not only present but became prominent at the rally as they chanted, marched, wearing proudly their IVAW t-shirts, and told their stories to anyone who was ready to listen.

Summer Postcard: Farm Stand

Summer Postcard: Farm Stand

Listen to story

SOMERVILLE, MA - August 21, 2007 - Boston is known for its abundant green space....the Boston Common, the Public Gardens, and the Esplanade, are examples.

But few who live in the city are able to plant crops and harvest their own fruits and veggies.

Fortunately there is a growing movement of local farmers bringing their fresh food into the city for sale.

In another of our series of summer postcards, today we visit the Union Square neighborhood farm stand in Somerville.
